Parents – what is the definition of Love? Answer = Time

I found this video Fishing video from Little Johnny  that provides perspective from different eyes (young vs. old).  It made an impact on me and I hope it will touch you as well.  As noted in the video, “these little monsters” are only in our homes for a little while.  It is important to take TIME out of your busy day to really engage with them.

I often compare fishing and golf… as related to the impact it has on building a relationship.  Both activities are really long conversation with a fishing cast or a golf swing getting in the way.

Personally, I have some of my greatest memories with both my grandparents and my father when were in a boat or sitting on the bank fishing for bass or catfish.  Each time I go back down memory lane, these are some of my most special memories.  As an adult, I am sure glad my role models in my life took me on these adventures.

Today, I have found the same joy of taking my girls golfing.  My hopes are that these “adventures” to the golf course will be etched deep into their memory bank when they become adults.  I encourage you to “stop being a grown up” and take time to do make a special memory for your child.
